Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates has announced that the president has nominated Army Colonel David G. Fox, for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Fox is currently serving as commander, Iraq Assistance Group, U.S. Forces-Iraq, Iraq.
Ronald G. Bechtold has been assigned as Offi ce of the Secretary of Defense Networks chief information officer, Office of the Director, Administration and Management, Washington, D.C. Bechtold previously served as director, Army Architecture Integration Cell, Department of the Army, Washington, D.C.
The president has nominated Marine Corps General James F. Amos to serve as the 35th commandant of the Marine Corps and for reappointment to the rank of general. Amos is currently serving as the assistant commandant of the Marine Corps in Washington, D.C.
The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office has announced that the remains of a serviceman, missing in action from World War I, have been identifi ed and returned to his family for burial with full military honors. Army Private Thomas D. Costello of New York, N.Y., was buried on July 12 at Arlington National Cemetery.
